Sad Songs is set in the city of Dallas, Texas in the year 2016. The city is quite a bit different from what it would have been before the events of WWII, but certain similarities in architecture and landmarks can be found if one were to know where to look. Like all other cities in the United States, it is divided into sections depending on wealth. Dallas itself is divided into three sections. There is the inner city, that is basically entirely safe and accessible by those in the middle class or above, though only those in the upper or highclasses reside there. Outside of the inner city is the middle-city, where a good amount of the population resides. It’s fairly safe, and reserved for those in the middle and upper-middleclasses. Finally, the last ring of the city is the outskirts. It is given little to no protection, and home to those in the mid-lower and lowerclasses.
